The Ultimate Fishing Show – Detroit


NOVI, MICHIGAN (WXYZ) – Hundreds of new fishing boats, the state’s largest ice fishing exhibit, and a range of star-studded seminars by some of the world’s top anglers combine to make the Ultimate Fishing Show – Detroit the biggest and best pure fishing spectacle in the country. The show hits town Jan.6-9 at the Suburban Collection Showplace, 46100 Grand River Avenue in Novi.

The Ultimate Fishing Show – Detroit is an exciting four-day event entirely dedicated to Michigan fishing. Southeast Michigan has more freshwater anglers per capita than anywhere else in the country, making it America’s largest freshwater fishing market. The world’s best bass fisherman, Kalamazoo native Kevin VanDam, will share some of his personal tactics and techniques with clients at the Ultimate Fishing Show-Detroit on Thursday, January 6.

Michigan native and TV show host Mark Zona – Zona’s Awesome Fishing Show on The Outdoor Channel and others – will make a special appearance on Sunday, Jan. 9 at the Ultimate Fishing Show – Detroit. Bass fishing experts and seminar speakers Joe Thomas, Captain Wayne Carpenter, Jim Vitaro, Gerry Gostenik and Dave Mull will also provide advice and entertainment over the four days of the show.

Equally impressive is the golden side of the seminar lineup and includes Michigan native Mark Martin, member of the Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame, TV show host Mark Romanack – Fishing 411 and Captain Lance Valentine, founder of Walleye 101 and the Fishing Education Center. .

Some of the other speakers featured at this year’s Ultimate Fishing Show – Detroit include Jim Bedford (river fishing), Mike Schultz (fly fishing), Roger Hinchcliff (steelhead), Bill Mangan (fly fishing), Captain Jake Romanack (ice fishing), Chris LeMessurier (kayaks) and Captain Joel Piatek (Lake St. Clair).

On Saturday and Sunday, show clients can participate in one of the three Ultime Clinics: Clinique Ultime au Doré, from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday; Ultimate Bass Clinic, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturdays; and Ultimate Salmon Clinic, noon to 2 p.m. on Sunday.
