MNR to store rainbow trout at two locations in Fort Wayne, including one in Huntington

MNR will stock two locations in Fort Wayne and one in Huntington with Rainbow Trout measuring 12 to 14 inches long.

In Fort Wayne, Shoaff Park will receive 300 fish and Spy Run Creek will receive 200. Memorial Park in Huntington will be supplied with 200 fish.

There will be no special events associated with Lower Fort Wayne. Fishing can take place after the fish have been stocked, which will take place on October 15th.

Memorial Park in Huntington will be holding a family fishing event on October 16 at 8 a.m. No trout fishing will be allowed before this event. Participants will need to register before fishing. Learn more about the event: https://fb.me/e/4RbtDLliQ.

All anglers 18 and over must have a valid Indiana fishing license and trout stamp. The catch limit is five trout per fisherman.

Shoaff Park is located on the northeast side of Fort Wayne at 6401 St. Joe Road. The pond is located at the western end of the park, near the Saint-Joseph River.

The Down Spy Run Creek is in Franke Park, across from the parking lot of the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo.

Memorial Park is west of downtown Huntington at 1200 West Park Drive. There are two ponds in the park, but only the north pond will be seeded.
