Escambia County Public Fishing Lake Temporarily Closes – Elmore-Autauga News

The Escambia County Public Fishing Lake (Lake Leon Brooks Hines) near Wing, Alabama will temporarily close beginning September 26, 2022, due to the resignation of the lake manager. The Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (ADCNR) Freshwater Fisheries and Wildlife Division (WFF) will immediately begin accepting applications for the position.

The Lake Manager position is under contract with the State of Alabama for a three-year term, renewable at the State’s discretion. Duties include selling licenses and fishing permits, grounds maintenance, store management and other related responsibilities. An investment is required to meet the initial needs of day-to-day operations.
