Carson City MPs Arrest Mother for Endangering Children after Hit-and-Run, Drunk Driving with Child in Car | News from Carson City, Nevada


A 22-year-old Mound House woman was arrested in the Fairview and Lepire area on charges of impaired driving, endangering children and hit and run after driving her vehicle into a wall while she was allegedly in condition of drunkenness.

According to the arrest report, MPs were dispatched to block 300 of S. Carson Meadows in reference to a vehicle that had crashed into the building. On the way to the scene. MPs were told the vehicle was leaving the scene heading east on 5th Street.

MPs located the vehicle and watched it turn northbound on Fairview, at which point they saw it fail to keep its lane and almost exit the roadway on several occasions, according to the report.

MPs stopped the vehicle and contacted the driver, later identified as the 22-year-old, whose 2-year-old was sitting in a “loosely installed” car seat facing the road in the front passenger seat, according to the report. .

When MPs spoke with the woman, they said they could smell an alcoholic beverage smell emanating from inside the vehicle.

The woman admitted that she went to an apartment complex and found her boyfriend there with another girl. She said she got mad and left the apartment complex, at which point she hit a wall in the complex but left the area as several subjects hammered her vehicle, and she said she had afraid for the safety of her baby.

The woman underwent a preliminary breathalyzer test which gave a blood alcohol level of 0.179.

The woman was taken into custody and convicted of child endangerment, impaired driving and hit-and-run.
