Welcome the Western North Carolina On The Fly - Guide to flyfishing the mountains of WNC!! I'm Scott Cunningham owner and webmaster for WNCTROUT. In the winter of 1995, I developed WNC Trout to help fellow anglers find public trout water here in North Carolina. Over the years the site has changed focus a little, I'll continue to help you find public water to fish but will no longer be solely focused on trout.

On the following pages and in our easy to use forum , I hope to help you find the type of water in western NC that suits your fishing preferences. From Hatchery Supported Streams, to Catch and Release Flyfishing Only Streams and all stream types in between hopefully this will be your one stop source for information. These trips have only a few gentle rapids, great scenery, lots of wildlife and good fishing!
We offer half day wade trips, full day wade trips, full day float trips, as well as overnight float trips on these rivers.
