Henderson County

Henderson County is on the South Carolina - North Carolina border and is surrounded by Buncombe, Polk and Translyvania counties.  Hendersonville and Fletcher are the two major towns within the county.  The Blue Ridge Parkway skirts the north western tip of the county.  Click here for more information about Henderson County!

Stocked Waters

(Rocky) Broad River (one-half mile north of Bat Cave Rd. to Rutherford County line) (1 mile)* easy access, watch for posted land mixed in with public land.

Green River - upper (mouth of Bob's Creek to mouth of Rock Creek and Lake Summit dam to I-26) (3 miles)* mostly posted, public section has very little access.

Camp Creek (S.R. 1919 to Polk County line) (1 mile)* small and tight, headwaters in Henderson county and flowing into Polk County.

(Big) Hungry River (entire river) (12 miles)* mostly on posted land, 2 areas not posted are the upper section along Deep Gap Rd.  The other section is downstream, access via Adams Rd.  Upper section is small and tight but lower section is quite fishable.

Little Hungry River (entire river) (8 miles)

North Fork Mills River (game land portion below Hendersonville watershed dam)* excellent fishing, look for wild trout near watershed dam. For more information click here!

Wild Trout Waters

Bradely Creek (entire creek)* fairly small and rather light fishing pressure.

Green River (I-26 bridge to Henderson/Polk County line)

Fletcher Creek (entire creek) *fairly small trib to North Mills flows into the Hendersonville watershed.
