Haywood County

Haywood County is located on the Tennessee - North Carolina state line and is surrounded by Transylvania, Jackson, Swain, Buncombe and Madison counties.  Waynesville and Canton are two of the larger towns within the county.

Stocked Waters

Cold Spring Creek (entire creek)* tough to find and access, rather small.

Hurricane Creek  (entire creek) (6 miles)* tough to find and access, rather small only lightly stocked.

Jonathans Creek - lower (concrete bridge in Dellwood to Pigeon River) (9 miles)

Jonathans Creek - upper (S.R. 1302 (Moody Rd.) bridge (west) to S.R. 1307 (Mehaffey Rd.) bridge) (3 miles)

Hemphill Creek (entire creek) (5 miles)

West Fork Pigeon River (triple arch bridgeon Hwy. NC 215 to Champion International property line, except Middle Prong)* mostly on public lands but has small tracts of private land mixed in.  Mostly stocked with browns.

Delayed Harvest Waters

Richland Creek (Russ Avenue bridge to U.S. 19A-23 bridge)

Wild Trout Waters

Little East Fork Pigeon River (headwater section on game lands)* Tight fishing, light pressure, no easy access.

Middle Prong West Fork Pigeon River (entire stream) (5 miles)

Cataloochee Creek (below Great Smoky Mountains National Park to Waterville Lake) (1 mile)* Foot or boat access only, very light pressure.
