Well the weekend went by to fast but had a dang great one myself. Trout fished Sat. on my local fav Wild water . The Wilds were tough until cloud cover and then every fish in the stream started to feed or it could have been the sparse haired caddis i tied on after no sucess then bam, bam, bam bam bam..

Sunday was the first trip of the season for Smallies and we never casted a spinning rod. Landed 8 or so, all on a popper SmileySmiley No turning back!!

Smallies on the top is a lot fun.  Wish I had a raft to hit more water, hard to find good places to wade for smallies.  Agree with TM the trout side does seem good and hope it continues the rest of this spring.

Quailman, wouldn't an SOT kayak be better? More maneuverable, lighter, more "fun" on small rapids?

There are, in fact, believe it or not, a very few trout dumb enough to be caught by me.

kayaks are very difficult to fish from if the water is moving at a good speed or the wind is blowing you around, very hard to fish and keep yourself in position at the same time .... can be impossible without an anchor and lots of practice. Huh
